Overberg Wine Routes

The Hermanus, Botriver and Elgin wine routes are less commercial than the traditional Stellenbosch and Franschhoek routes. Why don’t you explore roads less travelled?

Hemel en Aarde Wine Valley

Under an hours drive from us  you’ll find the magnificent “Hemel en Aarde”/ “Heaven and Earth” wine valley.  It’s  the perfect location for Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay wines tasting.  Besides that some of the estates offer good restaurants to enjoy a leisurely lunch at.

Some of the estates to visit:
Creation Wines (*try their fabulous award-winning food and wine pairing)
Newton Johnson Family Vineyards
La Vierge
Sumaridge Estate Wines
Hamilton Russell Vineyards
Bouchard Finlayson Winery

Elgin & Botriver

This relatively young wine route offers country hospitality. Its still relatively undiscovered and most importantly offers you an insight into both historical and modern wineries. Explore the gravel roads linking Botriver to Elgin and Grabouw, venture towards Caledon and marvel at the rolling Cape landscape. We have included website links to some of these estates for your perusal so that you can plan your outing.
